03rd October 2025, Cuttack/Bhubaneswar : Today with the Visarjan Utsav the most awaited festival – Durga Puja comes to an end. We have seen a lot of enthusiasm amongst the people for the last 4 days of Navratri followed by Ravan Dahan on Dussehra. Now the people are emotional while giving ‘Bidai‘ to Jagat Janani Maa Durga in the twin city which is prepared to say goodbye to Goddess Durga with detailed arrangements for the Visarjan (immersion) ceremony.

The Silver City Cuttack is implementing drone surveillance for the first time during Durga Visarjan. The Commissionerate Police will oversee the immersion routes utilizing over 500 CCTV cameras, with footage monitored through several control rooms. A dedicated team has been established to enforce noise pollution laws, particularly targeting sound systems that exceed 60 decibels. Offenders will receive a single warning, and if they do not comply, their equipment will be confiscated, and legal proceedings will commence. Fire and rescue services near Devigada have been directed to remain on high alert.

In the capital to ensure public safety, 125 platoons of police personnel will be stationed throughout Bhubaneswar, including 25 platoons equipped with barricades.
