07th October 2025, Bhubaneswar : Congress declared tribal leader Ghasiram Majhi as their candidate for Nuapada by elections going to held on 11th November 2025. Yesterday Election dates were announced by Election Commission of India. In 2024 Assembly elections Ghasiram Majhi contested as independent candidate and got 50941 votes and was defeated by Rajendra Dholakia by the margin of 10881 votes. BJP candidate Abhinandan Panda was at distant 3rd position with 44814 votes.
Nuapada seat was vacant due to the demise of MLA Rajendra Dholakia last month. BJD may announce Jay Dholakia son of Rajendra Dholakia as their candidate. But who will be the BJP candidate, we have to watch before speculating the result.
