Patna,13th October 2025 : The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has finalized its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled for November 6 and 11. In a historic move, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] will contest an equal number of 101 seats each in the 243-member Assembly, marking the first time since their alliance began in 1996 that both parties are on equal footing.
Chirag Paswan’s faction of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has been allocated 29 seats, while the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), led by Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), headed by Upendra Kushwaha, will contest six seats each.
The parity between BJP and JD(U) is seen as a strategic effort to maintain alliance harmony and present a united front, avoiding dominance by any single partner. All NDA allies have expressed satisfaction with the finalized seat-sharing formula as they gear up for the state elections.
